IMMUNOGENETIC ASPECTS OF RECURRENT PREGNANCY LOSS
##common.pageHeaderLogo.altText## Journal of Theoretical, Clinical and Experimental Morphology

Abstract

Periodic (recurrent) pregnancy losses (RPL) are defined as the loss of two or more pregnancies that can occur before the 20th week of gestation. RPL affects approximately 2-3% of women of reproductive age and poses a serious threat to the physical and psychological health of women. A significant advancement has been the development and implementation of next-generation sequencing technology, which has greatly expanded the ability to detect chromosomal aberrations and variants of specific genes responsible for RPL, providing new insights into their pathogenetic mechanisms. This could enable the formulation of specialized therapeutic recommendations based on the diagnostic assessment of patients. It is important to note that while some immunogenetic aspects of RPL have been well studied, there are still questions that remain unanswered. Therefore, new clinical and fundamental research is necessary to accelerate our understanding and develop new strategies to improve the outcomes of these pregnancy complications.
